Über den Autor und weitere Mitwirkende
Husband and wife team Harry and Zanna Goldhawk met at university while studying illustration. After many late nights in the studio they discovered a shared love of nature and color that sparked many collaborative projects. Harry and Zanna founded Pappio Press to give their main passion: beautiful animal illustration. The Pappio Press products are designed in house by Harry or Zanna (or both!). Both work hard to make sure that all the artwork they create tells its own unique and beautiful story, with gorgeous botanicals and characteristic animals. We like to think that this is what makes our products so special and covetable.

As a long-time fan of Harry & Zanna’s work I was excited to learn they released ‘The Creature Garden’, their first book! I admire their enchanting folk-art and as an illustrator myself was excited to learn more about the creative process behind these lovely pieces.The book is a nice guide to help you getting started: next to detailed descriptions on how to draw all kinds of animals, birds and insects Harry & Zanna guide you through materials and tools as well. The book is filled with sketches, line drawings and tutorials to help you practice drawing, and will be of great help if you just started to draw.I can recommend ‘The Creature Garden’ to every creative who likes folk-art style, whether you’re just getting started in illustration or already a seasoned artist. The book is a nice peek into the way of working of Harry & Zanna, and a great inspiration to get to work. And, hint to those of you with creative friends: ‘The Creature Garden’ would make a great present! :)
Ich bin schon längere Zeit ein Fan der wunderschönen Illustrationen der Autoren und als ich erfuhr, dass sie ein Buch herausbringen habe ich es sofort bestellt! Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. Das Buch ist super schön und inspirierend gestaltet. Es werden stets verschiedene Gestaltungsmöglichkeiten gezeigt und tolle Anregungen gegeben.Ein tolles Buch für (Hobby)künstler und auch eine schöne Geschenkidee, da das Buch einfach wunderschön anzusehen ist!
